Barbara Ackerman

Her subject matter comes from her love of the outdoors and her painting technique is both representational and interpretive. She creates en plein air and also enjoys exploring abstractions of her observations in her studio. Color choices and composition are both visual and emotional responses to her surroundings.

J.T. Gibson
Sculptor
J.T.’s practice as a contemporary sculptor and artist investigates cultural symbols and motifs to create work that inhabits the gray area between abstraction and purpose. He is uninterested in any agenda or dogma, but rather in a pared-down aesthetic of instinctual artistic pursuit. The sculptures reference the figure, signage, or fragments of tools and machinery, and thus have a familiar yet unique and unidentifiable presence, evoking some ancient memory. They are self-sufficient objects that rely on the singular form, without adornment, to convey their power.

Angus McCullough
Mixed Media Artist and Photographer
Angus’s work illuminates and dissects contemporary ideologies through a research-driven, multidisciplinary practice. Each project begins with a central concept and works outward towards expression, changing as it grows. Since he produce works in an artisanal way, he likes to expose the action of making itself – objects that reveal their material processes, video documentation of his own activity, photographs that exhibit the action of taking the photograph, etc. – to stay close to the core thought and display his subjectivity. Angus was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and currently lives and works in North Bennington.

Bob Turan
Sculptor
Bob strongly believes in and supports sponsored public art that provides both attractions for visitors and opportunities for artists. He has been a filmmaker, artist, and sculptor and has gravitated toward public art since moving to upstate New York from the Washington, DC, area. With a cinematic eye and a welder’s arc, Bob brings light, motion, and mass to his work. He often works in four dimensions, allowing time to show the kinetic aspects of a piece. The processes of welding have allowed his visions to soar. He enjoys the fabrication as much as the design, and usually refines the concept during construction.
